Technology Transfer Conferences
Annual NSF 2013 SBIR/STTR Phase II Grantees Conference will be hosted in Portland, OR. This conference provides opportunities for small businesses that have received SBIR or STTR Phase II awards and supplements from NSF to share their technical and commercial achievements with the NSF Program Directors, potential investors, and strategic partners. Association for the Advancement of Assistive Technology in Europe ( AAATE) will host it's annual conference inVilamoura, Algarve - Portugal, September 19-22, 2013. AAATE's mission is to "to stimulate the advancement of assistive technology for the benefit of people with disabilities, including elderly people". Given the demographic developments the potential of technology is increasing. There is a wide variety of technology available to be applied in many applications supporting not only individuals with a disability in their daily life and independence but also supporting the people providing care. Advancing these technologies therefore focuses on development of applications and implementing them. Directly or indirectly this must mean that European citizens will have access to suitable AT and are in the position to put this AT to effective use in their daily live.
