Development Project 2. The KT4TT Knowledge Base

The KT4TT Knowledge Base is a repository for all materials compiled by, and outputs generated within this Center’s research and development projects. It houses the Need to Knowledge (NtK) model and its associated components; all excerpts from Research Project 1 literature review; resources such as training modules and a technology transfer plan template; extensive search capabilities; and a link to all of the Center’s publications and presentations. The Knowledge Base went live on-line in December 2009. It is accessible directly through the following link: http://kt4tt.buffalo.edu/knowledgebase.  Key features are summarized here.

The NtK Model Components:

  • 3 Phases of activity broken down into 9 stages, 58 steps, and 71 tips, with knowledge to action cycles bridging each phase.
  • Case examples from our own prior success in technology transfer and commercialization demonstrate how our work has implemented the NtK concepts.
  • Tools identified during the literature review embedded in Supporting Evidence links at the step level.
  • Interactive game board style overlay – click on the path!

Search the literature review excerpts:

  • Perform keyword searches for authors, article titles, or keywords.
  • Customize search results to return information specific to selected user groups or settings.
  • Return listings of matching excerpts or citations.

Publications:

  • KT4TT publications, webcasts and conference presentations
  • T2RERC publications and presentations (Center activity ended in 2008)
  • Resources- technology transfer template and training modules
